The Prophet’s Mantle #1 - The Messenger

Week 1: The Messenger

Text: 1 Kings 17:1–16

Elijah steps onto the scene with a hard message—God is withholding rain to call His people to repentance. It’s a bold word that makes Elijah a target and sends him into hiding. But in the wilderness, God sustains him—with ravens, with a brook, and with the generosity of a Gentile widow. Elijah’s story shows us the weight of the prophet’s calling and the faithfulness of the God who provides.

That same calling is now ours. We are messengers of repentance and grace, sent not in our own strength, but in the strength God gives through His Word and promises. The prophet’s mantle has fallen on us. Let’s take it up—together.
