Christ’s Compassion Compels our Mission

Jesus saw the crowds—harassed and helpless, sheep without a shepherd—and what he felt wasn't distance, it was compassion. That compassion didn't stay a feeling. It moved him to send workers into the harvest. Today we open Matthew 9:35–10:8 and discover that our mission doesn't begin with our competence or our confidence—it begins with the compassion of Christ, who still sees the crowds and still sends his people.
